We are seeking a few new players for next season to play at Under 16

Welcome to the web-site of Cross Gates Lions JFC. The team was formed in 2003 and is located in Cross Gates in east Leeds. We are affiliated to the West Riding County FA. In the 2008/9 season the team is playing in the Leeds & District League at Under 15.

The team is sponsored by the Communication Workers Union and play in the union's colour, burgundy.

The aim of the Club is:

To promote team work, physical fitness, skill development and build confidence through the playing of Association Football in a safe and enjoyable environment;

and,

to endeavour to achieve this by ensuring that all children feel they are valued members of the club.

The principal rule of the club is 'Respect'; for team mates, coaches, parents, opponents, officials and equipment.

'Child First, Winning Second' does not mean we do not believe in being competitive simply that the welfare, enjoyment and development of the child should come first and be ranked above match results.

Winning is good but winning at all costs is not the best way to encourage young players.

We are always looking to increase the size of the Club, to give more children the opportunity to become involved in football. If you are interested in managing and/or coaching a team please contact us.
