2 Oct 2006 - Ten Men Lions go Down to Ossett.

It was a different Lions team that came out to play Ossett than the team that played Tingley just seven days ago. It was always going to be tough with only ten men and six key players unable to play for various reasons. Even so at half-time the Lions were trailing by just one goal. An early goal in the second half then saw the cracks appear and towards the end many of the Lions were running on empty to try and stem the flow. The Lions deserved a goal to show for their determination and effort and came close with Rose hitting the bar but in the end a strong Ossett team deserved their victory.

The Lions should take heart though that their attitude, behaviour and effort was in marked contrast to last weeks match. They did the Club and their parents proud no matter what the final score.

Impossible to name a player of the match so it was given to the whole team but special mention has to be made of Captain Stephen Mason who kept the team motivated with heads up until the very end.
